Inaugural Amateur Champion
The Women’s Southern Golf Association’s first amateur Championship was held in Atlanta, Georgia in May of 1911. Mrs. Roger Smith of Nashville (pictured here) was the first Champion. The first medalist, 13 year old Alexa Stirling, was subsequently a 3 time winner of both the Southern and the USGA Women’s Amateur.

Inaugural Mid-Amateur Champion
The Women’s Southern Golf Association’s Inaugural Mid-Amateur Championship was held at Sara Bay Country Club in Sarasota, Florida in 2015 where Gigi Higgins of Cape Coral, Florida earned the first Mid-Amateur Champion title.

Inaugural Senior Amateur Champion
In 1986, the inaugural Women’s Southern Senior Amateur Championship was hosted by Palm Beach Polo & Country Club in Wellington, Florida. Nita McMaster of Lakeland, Florida earned the title of the very first Women’s Southern Senior Amateur Champion by the Women’s Southern Golf Association.
Inaugural Super Senior Amateur Champion
In 1989, the inaugural Super Senior trophy went to Betty Raasch of Sugar Land, Texas.
