All contestants must have a handicap index computed under a USGA Handicap System and must be issued from a “golf club” which is licensed to the USGA Handicap System. Membership must be current as of the entry closing. A contestant may remit dues to her club.

Entry Procedure: The number of players in each Championship (Amateur & Mid-Amateur) will be determined by the number of eligible entries. In the event the championship becomes over-subscribed, entries by division will be accepted in order of handicap index based upon the Wednesday, May 3, 2023, World Handicap System Handicap Revision.

Exemptions: Each Women’s State Amateur Champion from the fifteen southern states will receive an exemption into the WSGA Amateur Championship. If the dates of said states Amateur Championship conflicts with the WSGA Amateur & Mid-Amateur Championship, the Allied Golf Association has the choice to use the exemption for a player who may not participate in the State Amateur and would elect to play in the WSGA Mid-Amateur Championship.

Withdraw Policy: Prior to the entry deadline players looking to withdraw should do so online through their Golf Genius profile to receive an immediate refund and withdrawal. After the entry deadline has passed players should either call the Tournament Director, Amy Worthington at (214) 468-8942 or aworthington@txga.org. Only withdrawals on the day of the competition should be directed to the host club golf shop.

Refund Policy: If a player withdraws prior to the entry withdraw date she will receive a full refund, less a $25.00 administrative fee. If a player withdraws after the withdraw date has passed, the player will not receive a refund unless the spot is filled by a wait-listed player (the $25.00 administrative fee is still applicable in this circumstance). However, if the player withdraws within three business days, prior to the day of the first round, and the spot is filled with an alternate player, she will receive a 50% refund of the entry fee. In exceptional circumstances, a player may file a written appeal for a refund to the Championship Decisions Committee. These will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

Championship Information

Player Field: Maximum 96 players.

Format: The low 32 Amateur (approx. 6,000-6,300 yards) and Mid-Amateur (5,700-5,900 yards) qualifiers will constitute the Amateur & Mid-Amateur Championship Flights. Any ties for last place in the Amateur or Mid-Amateur Championship Flight will be decided by a hole-by-hole play-off held immediately after the qualifying round. The remaining players will be divided into flights determined by the number of entries. Ties for the last place in these flights will be determined by the order in which the scorecards are returned. All players eliminated in the first round of match play may participate in an 18-hole Stroke Play consolation round on Wednesday.

For those players in the Mid-Amateur Championship who do not qualify in the low 32, the committee reserves the right to shorten the yardage for continuing matches.
